General Company History

Our company was started in 1985 and moved to New York in 1988 when the owner and founder, Michael Morkaut, returned from Texas after building a master planned 3,700 acre city for a Dallas based oil exploration company. This project included all of the amenities that any city would need from sewers, potable water, roads, schools, stores and recreational facilities. This project was a major undertaking that came in well ahead of schedule and under its 230 million dollar price tag.

Once Morkaut and Associates started we realized the necessity to specialize in a specific area of construction management. In 1990 we narrowed our focus to specialize in municipal, school and university related construction throughout New York State. Our office is centrally located from the farthest points we serve. We offer pre construction and construction services. These are spelled out in our company video (available upon request, see contact section for more info). Morkaut and Associates specializes in new construction, renovation and restoration projects in the K – 12 market and in industry as well as university construction. We have handled the construction of libraries, media centers, distance learning facilities, new gymnasiums, new schools and renovations, restorations and reconstruction projects, as well as municipal projects. We have extensive mechanical reconstruction experience, as well as site civil experience including the building of state of the art turf fields and tracks.
